JVC HR-D158MS (???)
Very strange and somewhat rare multistandard JVC VHS VTR. The VTR comes from the Goethe-Institut in Zagreb. It is unknown what it was used for there.
I found this VTR for sale completely by accident while searching for U-matic terms in Google Images, and I came across a Njuškalo listing that had expired in 2021.
I called the seller, who mentioned that the U-matic VTR was still for sale and that he also had other VTRs, one of which was the JVC HR-D158MS.
When I met with the seller, we tested the unit and it turned out to be fully functional. In the end, I took it as part of a lot with the other VTRs he was selling.
This VTR supports PAL, SECAM, and NTSC playback. I am not sure whether it can record all of those standards, because recording is available only through the RF input on the TV tuner. Luckily, I managed to push myself to test PAL recording using a fake RF channel and two antennas. PAL recording works completely normally.
